At the start of August 2021, 15 states remained on my personal mission to walk 100 miles in all 50 states and visit yoga studios along the way. Arizona miles 42-59. Chilly night in the tarp tent on parched ground west of Sedona. Free primitive camping off a fire road was the only affordable option on a weekend. Invigorating waking up with the peace and wide views.

Hawaii miles 34-46. A winter fairytale continued from one beach campground to another on the north side of Oahu. A dozen cats had the campsite just a few spots away, but they kept to themselves. This camp was run by the wild chickens
Columbia, Missouri

My in between oasis. The end of January road trips always brought great relief and joy. It felt amazing to be back in a familiar Missouri bed. The extra sleep, good local food and seeing familiar faces was sublime. Just being able

First 10 miles of Tennessee walkin’ in Memphis. After coming in on Amtrak the night before from rural Mississippi, the endless expanse of pavement and buildings felt like a metropolis.

South Carolina miles 70-81. On the streets before dawn in Columbia dodging tvs on roads without sidewalks. Bus to Florence and onward to the Atlantic. Interstate 20 then state highways thru endless swampy brown forest.
